Fast access to Red Bull’s financial paperwork

Copyzone Archiving were asked to scan and archive financial paperwork and make it accessible from a PC using Optical Character Recognition (OCR) techniques to enable any page to be accessed from a personal computer. The project started in Spring 2005.

Red Bull is the worldwide synonym for ‘Energy Drinks’ and is energising over 100 countries across the globe with over a billion cans being consumed each year. Responsibility for the unparalleled success of the world's No. 1 energy drink worldwide is shared by the company's 1,850 employees, of whom around 150 work for Red Bull Company Limited, in London and Epping.

Since its launch in the UK 1995, Red Bull has undergone a phenomenal growth period with sales year on year! Red Bull remains the market leader in the UK, with an 85% share of the functional energy drinks market. Sales in 2004 topped 240 million cans and Red Bull is now the third biggest selling soft drink by value in the UK.

Red Bull Payroll & Administration Manager, Carol Swift, said "We were looking for an effective means of storing paper that was confidential but also easily accessible and met our disaster recovery needs. The keyword search facility offered by CZA's software enables files to be found quickly. Once located, we can scroll through the electronic files and print some or all pages as required. This solution has made our document retrieval quicker and cheaper. This, combined with recoverable off-site storage has significantly improved our archiving facilities. I know that this will make us more efficient and enable us to locate relevant information quickly."
